Government Decree “On establishing the emergency response services calls regulations and changes to certain Acts of the Government of Russian Federation” was passed

On June 6, 2015, the Government of Russian Federation adopted a Decree No 557 "On establishing the emergency response services calls regulations and changes to certain Acts of the Government of Russian Federation".

The project of the Decree was prepared by the Ministry of Transportation of Russia in cooperation with GLONASS UNION, in pursuance of provisions of the Federal Law of December 28, 2013, No395-FZ, as well as in accordance with the plan of actions (the "Road map") for establishing JSC GLONASS, the development of state automated information system ERA-GLONASS (approved by the Government Order of August 9, 2014, No1498-р) and the instructions of the Government of Russian Federation.

The Decree serves for regulation of the relations connected to the use of the devices for emergency response services calls, including the procedure of their usage.

According to the Decree, amendments were made to the Regulations for the technical check-up of vehicles. From now on, the automobiles equipped with a device for emergency response services calls will also have the working efficiency of these devices examined during the technical check-up.

Moreover, according to the adopted regulations for the use of emergency response services calling devices, the devices are to undergo a registration procedure in the mobile radiotelephone communication networks and an identification in the ERA-GLONASS system. The identity check procedure is conducted by a microchip. The operator of ERA-GLONASS system provides data for its production.
