AECS working group meeting

With the assistance of the GLONASS Union, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and The Central research and development automobile and engine institute NAMI, Saint Petersburg has  hosted 9th AECS meeting for the development of the UN regulations July 7-10, 2015.  The attendees have discussed the Regulations, concerning official establishment of emergency response systems and mechanical vehicles concerning installment of such devices.  

The agenda included discussions over application of the UN Regulations project, the main requirements for the emergency response devices and their installment on the vehicle. The discussion also featured the issues of the speaker phone system quality, requirements for the notification of the driver about the malfunction of the emergency response system, requirements for the navigation module, the problems of trouble-free energy supply in case of a major accident, as well as requirements and methods for the resting of mechanical stability of the emergency response system elements. The attendees have also discussed the issues of productivity assessment of the devices/systems on complete vehicles.

The Regulations, developed by the working group, upon their approval by the UN World Forum, will be applied in establishing the type of the vehicle, including countries, where emergency services calling devices must be installed in accordance with the law.

The working group meeting was attended by the representatives of the GLONASS Union, The Central research and development automobile and engine institute NAMI, SCIENTIFIC AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF MOTOR TRANSPORT, International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA), world major vehicle producers, European Association of Automotive Suppliers (CLEPA), European Commission, The European GNSS Agency (GSA), Transport Research Laboratory (TRL), International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and other experts.

The AECS working group is planning to present UN Regulations projects at the 109th working group session for the general instructions, concerning GRSG security of the WP.29 World Forum October 2015 for further discussion.
