The first board meeting at GLONASS Joint Company
The first GLONASS Joint Company board meeting took place July 27, chaired by Maksim Sokolov, the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation.
The board has established the main trends and development strategy of GLONASS JC and ERA-GLONASS through to 2020. The board has also established the resolutions for the functioning of GLONASS JC, organization structure and securities emission. The Committee for budget and audit, the Committee for strategy and investment and the Committee for human resources have been created, along with appointed related Chairmen of the Committees.
GLONASS JC with a 100% public assistance will be acting as public emergency response system operator ERA-GLONASS starting January 1, 2016 in accordance with the Federal Law No 395 of July 13, 2015. JC priorities will mainly include the development of ERA-GLONASS system, exploitation and development of technological infrastructure in favor of public and other information systems, creation of the new civil purpose technologies using the system, expansion of the quality and quantity of rendered services, implementation of navigational and informational technologies and systems into different spheres of life and economy.
