GLONASS UNION TOOK PART IN AECS WORKING GROUP MEETING

On November 24- 26 Seoul hosted the 11th meeting of the informal working group on the development of UN rules on emergency response systems.

The meeting of the working group was assisted by the representatives of GLONASS Union, the Central research and development automobile and engine institute NAMI, Association of European Businesses (AEB), the world's biggest vehicle manufacturers, the European Commission, International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA), the European GNSS Agency (GSA), Transport Research Laboratory (TRL), the European Association of Automotive Suppliers (CLEPA) and other experts.

As part of the agenda, the experts discussed the requirements for the emergency response devices and their installment on the vehicle. The discussion also featured the issues of the speaker phone system quality, requirements for the notification of the driver about the malfunction of the emergency response system, the issues of trouble-free energy supply in case of a major accident, as well as requirements and methods for the resting of mechanical stability of the emergency response system elements.

The attendees have also discussed the issues of productivity assessment of the devices/systems on complete vehicles.The experts reached a consensus on most of the topics, and the remaining issues had been referred to more elaborate national expert bodies for further research, including full-scale testing. The results must be submitted to the 12th meeting to be held from 9 to 11 February in Moscow at the State Research Center of the Russian Federation FSUE "NAMI".

The AECS working group is planning to present the developed UN Regulations at the 111th working group session for the general instructions, concerning GRSG security of the WP.29 World Forum in October 2016 for further discussion.
