Experts of GLONASS Union discussed the development of interstate standards at the forum in Chengdu

On October 24-25, the city of Chengdu (China) hosted the II International Forum on Intellectual Transport and V Annual Conference on Telematics Industry, organized by members of Telematics Industry Application Alliance (TIAA). Experts of GLONASS Union took part in the discussion of the most topical issues in the field of information and navigation technologies in transport.

II International Forum on Intellectual Transport and V Annual Conference on Telematics Industry gathered about 1000 delegates, including representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, Ministry of Transport of China, Ministry of Public Security of China, the largest technology and telecommunications companies in China and other countries of the world, car manufacturers, professional alliances and international organizations.

Expert on International Standards of GLONASS Union Artyom Klimovskiy made a report called "Technical regulation in the framework of the creation of the ERA-GLONASS emergency response system and highlighted the main issues of the application of the technical regulations of the Customs Union "On the safety of wheeled vehicles" (ТР ТС 018/2011) and the development of national and interstate standards necessary to ensure its implementation.

The topic aroused great interest among guests of the forum, including representatives of car manufacturers, manufacturers of onboard devices and standards bodies. According to the requirements of technical regulations of the Customs Union, from 1 January 2015 all new cars marketed in Russia and other countries of the EAEC should be equipped with ERA-GLONASS devices with a certificate. Special attention was paid to the hardware requirements, the certification process of devices and the approval of the type of equipped models. Moreover, China is planning to create a system of emergency response similar to the Russian ERA-GLONASS system.

In addition, the forum covered the process of developing the draft of Rules of the United Nations establishing uniform requirements for emergency call devices, in which the GLONASS Union takes an active part. Since ERA-GLONASS became the first commissioned state system of emergency response in the world, Russian experts today are the driving force for the creation of the uniform rules of the United Nations and the AECS working group is based primarily on the experience gained in our country.

Non-commercial partnership GLONASS actively cooperates with the members of Telematics Industry Application Alliance (TIAA). The organizations cooperate in the field of development of embedded onboard systems/devices for call of emergency services based on GLONASS/BeiDou technologies, as well as the joint development of information service platforms in the car and promotion services.
