RUSSIA AND CHINA WILL UNITE GLONASS AND BEIDOU WITH UNIFIED CHIPSET

An official visit of the Chinese delegation took place following the results of the 21st regular meeting of Russia and China heads. The signing of the agreement took place in the presence of the head of the Chinese satellite navigation committee, Wang Li, and the creator of the Beidou navigation system, Yang Chang Feng.

The official document on cooperation was signed by the President of GLONASS UNION Alexander Gurko and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Northern Institute of Electronics Liang Peikan.

 «This agreement is an important step in the development of navigation chipsets and modules. The use of these products will make it possible to provide better services on the basis of satellite navigation in the coverage area of ​​GLONASS and Beidou, and this is the entire surface of the globe. Both global systems will be available to users, which will provide an additional guarantee of the quality of service provision», - notes Alexander Gurko.

The OEM module is the heart of each set of satellite navigation equipment GLONASS. At the moment, national design centers lose the fight to foreign competitors on the national market. From 2010 to 2016, the share of national navigation receivers has decreased almost to zero. Given that the market of navigation receivers has grown 43 times and continues to grow every year. Today it is counted by millions of navigation devices - ERA-GLONASS terminals, monitoring of passenger and freight transport, PLATON, digital tachographs and other devices.
