The 43rd meeting of the Interstate Council "Radionavigation"

On November 21, 2014 in Moscow was held the 43rd meeting of the Interstate Council "Radionavigation" (hereinafter "the Council") which was attended by authorized representatives and experts from the Republic of Belarus, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and the CIS Executive Committee.

The meeting was opened and led by the Council Chairman, State Military Industrial Committee of the Republic of Belarus Deputy Chief Yuri Samul.

Participants of the Council were welcomed by Director of the Department of radio-electronic industry of The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Sergey Khokhlov and Deputy Head of the Sectoral Economic Cooperation Division of the Economic Cooperation Department of the CIS Executive Committee Boris Sidorov.

During the meeting was noted that the Council of Heads of States of the CIS by decision of May 30, 2014 has approved the Interstate Radionavigation Program of CIS countries up to 2016 (IRP-2016). The coordinator of this Program is the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. They discussed the progress of its implementation and the status of development of the draft of an Agreement between the State Military Industrial Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Aerospace Committee of the Ministry of Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation on mutual protection of intellectual property within the IRP-2016.

Also during the meeting was presented the following information:

  • on the status and results of the work in the field of navigation in CIS countries;
  • on the results of the 23rd Session of the Council of the Far Eastern Radionavigation Service (FERNS);
  • on the results of the 9th International Scientific and Technical Conference "Trends in the development and harmonization of radionavigation software";
  • on the implementation of policy documents for the development and use of the GLONASS system and its applications.

This information was presented by Executive Director of the Association "GLONASS/GNSS-Forum" Vladimir Klimov. "We have to speed up the work of creating a unified navigational-time zone of the Russian Federation, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and other CIS countries," - said Vladimir Klimov.

The activity schedule of the Interstate Council "Radionavigation" for 2015 has been discussed.
