The accredited laboratory is established for the certification of ERA-GLONASS devices

The testing laboratory "ERA" (a part of certification center "Communication Certificate") has completed the accreditation process. As a result the relevant certificate was issued in the Federal Agency for Accreditation. Laboratory "ERA" is created for testing of hardware components designed to provide satellite navigation and call emergency services.

The ERA-GLONASS System will be put into operation since the beginning of 2015. According to the Customs Union Technical Regulation "On safety of wheeled vehicles" (TR CU 018/2011) since January 1st 2015 the presence of ERA-GLONASS equipment will required for all new vehicles, which for the first time undergo conformity assessment in the form of type approval.

The Certification Center "Communication Certificate" CEO Irina Zhdankina noted that currently testing laboratory "ERA" fully ready to start tests. "Also our certification center included Institution to certification of quality management systems, accredited in the national accreditation system. Finally, the expansion of the scope of accreditation of Institution to products certification is under finishing to harmonize to the requirements of technical regulations TR CU 018/2011"- she added.

"The approving of the corresponding of ERA-GLONASS terminals to requirements of technical regulations of the Customs Union is being carried in the form of mandatory certification, which includes tests in accredited testing laboratory. The tests will be performed in accordance with national standards developed by GLONASS Union and included in the list of standards approved by the Eurasian Economic Commission on December 2nd 2014,"- said GLONASS Union Vice-President Eugene Belyanko.

"The Customs Union has adopted a two-stage system of certification. After the successful approval of the components, the vehicle manufacturer must contact the Test Center "NAMI" for the final verification of functional properties. Now more than 15 successful tests of full-equipped cars have already been completed", - said the Test Center «NAMI» Director Denis Zagarin.
