GLONASS Union at the international scientific-practical conference «Russia – Italy: keeping trust and partnership»

The GLONASS Union President Alexander Gurko took part in the conference «Russia - Italy: keeping trust and partnership». The event was held by the Committee on Economic Policy, Innovation Development and Entrepreneurship of the State Duma, contact deputy group with the parliament of Italy and Russian-Italian center of the Graduate School of Corporate Management (GSCM) of RANEPA at the initiative of the chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy, Innovation Development and Entrepreneurship of the State Duma Igor Rudensky.

The conference was devoted to consolidation of entrepreneurial, scientific-educational and expert communities of Russia and Italy, being interested in preservation and network development between two countries. The participants were representatives of the State Duma, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, the Italian-Russian Chamber of Commerce, embassies, NGOs, research institutes, institutions of higher education.

The GLONASS Union President Alexander Gurko spoke on "Navigation technologies for automotive transportation: new directions for the development of collaboration and cooperation between Russia and Italy." The ERA-GLONASS System will be put into operation since the beginning of 2015. It is scheduled that in 2017 the similar European system eCall will be started.

Since the next year vehicles from all manufacturers which for the first time undergo conformity assessment in the form of type approval in the territory of the Customs Union will have to be equipped with ERA-GLONASS terminals. While compiling the technical requirements for ERA-GLONASS terminals were taken into account the opinions of all the world's leading automakers. They are included in the list of standards technical regulations of the Customs Union, which are harmonized with the requirements of Regulation Economic Commission for Europe of the United Nations (UNECE Regulations).

Today both systems ERA-GLONASS and eCall are already harmonized at the level of technical requirements and standards. Due to this the European drivers in Russia whose cars are equipped with eCall terminals will be able to get assistance via the contact center of the ERA-GLONASS system. Similarly, calls from the Russian cars equipped with ERA-GLONASS terminals will be redirected to the eCall Contact Center while in the territory of the European Union. This allows creating a unified global space of road safety.

Following the conference "Russia - Italy: keeping trust and partnership" is created Russian-Italian Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Committee on Economic Policy, Innovation Development and Entrepreneurship of the State Duma.
