The GLONASS Union at the conference «Technical Regulation in Motor Vehicles»

The international conference «Technical Regulation in Motor Vehicles» was held on December 3rd and 4th in the NAMI Test Center. The conference was attended by the GLONASS Union Director of Technical Regulation Victor Gladkikh. He spoke on «The harmonization of technical regulations of the emergency call systems in the Custom Union.»

Improving the regulatory framework in the field of navigation is one of the main activities of the GLONASS Union. Standards for the Accident Emergency Response System developed by the GLONASS Union were approved by orders of Federal Agency on Technical Regulation and Metrology and included in the list of standards for the implementation of the Custom Union Technical Regulation «Wheeled Vehicles Safety» (CU TR 018/2011).

The ERA-GLONASS System will be put into operation since the beginning of 2015. Since January 2017 it will be required for all categories of newly introduced vehicles intended for sale in the Custom Union territory.

The main document which establishes standards for mandatory installation on vehicles of various systems and devices, as well as requirements for these systems and devices, is the Custom Union Technical Regulation «Wheeled Vehicles Safety». International, interstate and national standards are using to ensure the complying of these requirements. Requirements for ERA-GLONASS terminals should be harmonized with the requirements of pan-European system eCall.

The conference «Technical Regulation in Motor Vehicles» was organized by NAMI and noncommercial public organization «Association of Automotive Engineers». The conference was attended by over 200 people who were discussing the prospects of the Federal Law "On Standardization", a development of the strategy of Russian automotive industry, regulatory requirements to the ERA-GLONASS and other issues.
