GLONASS Union will establish JV in Thailand
During the official visit of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev in Thailand GLONASS Union signed a memorandum with a large Thai company GEORADIUS Thailand Pte Ltd. The document was signed by the GLONASS Union President Alexander Gurko and GEORADIUS CEO Amonchit Kiran at a meeting of Russian Prime Minister and Prime Minister of Thailand Mr. Prayut Chan-o-cha.
The Memorandum was signed with the aim of expanding and strengthening cooperation in the development and implementation of satellite navigation technologies including GLONASS navigation technologies. The Parties shall use existing scientific, technical and production experience in the development, implementation and use of satellite navigation technologies to establish and strengthen of a partnership.
"Cooperation with Thailand is a new step in the development of GLONASS technologies and their applications in Southeast Asia" - says GLONASS Union President Alexander Gurko. - "GLONASS Union is ready to offer Thailand a number of joint projects with the use of navigation technologies in various industries. First of all, this is creating of emergency response system similar to ERA-GLONASS which will be a product of high-tech Russian export."
According to the memorandum, the parties will cooperate in the framework of various formats, one of which will be the creation of a joint venture. The GLONASS Union will become a coordinator of the joint project, which will carry out organizational and managerial support of this cooperation.
The company GEORADIUS provides satellite-based navigation technologies for large-scale business objectives. The company's products are used to monitor, tachograph control of vehicles, a fleet management optimizing and other purposes. The company has branches in India, UAE, Thailand and Nigeria.
