International potential of the ERA-GLONASS system discussed on the “Security and Safety Technologies” forum

The "Development of international cooperation and the use of global navigation satellite systems concerning cargo and transport security arrangements" conference took place on February 12, 2015 in Moscow IBC "Crocus Expo" as part of the 20th Anniversary International Forum "Security and Safety Technologies".

Leading industry experts talked about the current state of satellite navigation market and prospects of development in the field of international cooperation, solutions and services based on navigation technologies to provide and enhance transport security. Evgeniy Belyanko, the vice-president the GLONASS UNION, presented the "ERA-GLONASS - Europe's largest project of mass service navigation and information system. Prospects for international cooperation" report to the delegates.

ERA-GLONASS is the world's first state system of emergency response in case of road traffic accidents or other emergency situations, ahead of similar projects in other countries. It was brought into commercial production January 1, 2015. The system has the highest level of reliability and uses advanced features of navigation, information and telecommunication technologies, microelectronics and automobile manufacturing to save the life and health of citizens.

Today Russia is ready to offer proven solutions and standards of ERA-GLONASS to other countries for the establishment of national emergency response systems in transport. The ERA-GLONASS project is a product of high-tech export, which can be used in a number of countries, among which, primarily, are the states of the Customs Union, the BRICS countries as well as the Middle East (UAE, Egypt, Iran).
