GLONASS Union takes part in co-chair meeting of Russian-Chinese Commission for preparation of Heads of Governments meetings

April 27-28, 2015 Hangzhou hosted co-chair meeting of Russian-Chinese Commission for preparation of Heads of Governments meetings, chaired by Dmitry Rogozin, the Deputy Chair of the Russian Government Wang Yang, Vice Prime Minister of Chinese ruling council.

Alexander Gurko, President of the GLONASS Union, participated in the official meeting as part of the Russian delegation. The participants discussed cooperation between the countries, including implementation and integration of the global satellite navigation systems GLONASS and Beidou. Heads of delegations have pointed out great cooperation prospects for joint application of GLONASS and Beidou.

Alexander Gurko has informed his Chinese counterparts about the commissioning of ERA-GLONASS system in Russia and reported to the Vice Prime Ministers about the priority cooperation trends in the field of global satellite navigation systems. The main objectives, along with creating in China national system of emergency response and joint development of equipment based on GLONASS/Beidou, includes building national charging system of heavy truck transport, development and implementation of management system for workforce and means of police and emergency response services and dispatching systems on passenger transport.

"For the development of navigation cooperation with China we suggest establishing permanent collaborative mechanism in the form of joint industrial park and special investment fund for execution of joint projects for implementation of  ГЛОНАСС/Beidou technologies," added Alexander Gurko, President of the GLONASS Union, "Major Russian high-tech companies, including co-founders of the GLONASS Union, can co-invest Russian-Chinese projects."

GLONASS Union, federal network navigation operator, is now cooperating with a number of Chinese partners.  Together with the Russian Space Agency and the China Satellite Navigation Office the Partnership is cooperating as a Working group for joint application of satellite navigation.  With China North Industries Corporation (NORINCO) GLONASS Union cooperates in the field of satellite navigation for transborder traffic. Also with Telematics Industry Application Alliance (TIAA), uniting vehicle producers, airplane systems developers and service-providers, it cooperates as Working group for implementation of emergency response system in China.  Soon the parties are planning to test equipment and establish technical requirements for national accident response system in China.
