Russian Ministry of Economic Development and GLONASS Union signed a Cooperation Agreement on modernization of the Russian Economy

On May 23, within the scope of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, a Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the Non-Commercial Partnership for Development and Use of Navigation Technologies (GLONASS Union) on modernization of the Russian Economy in the sphere of international trade was signed by the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Alexey Ulyukaev and GLONASS Union President Alexander Gurko.

The GLONASS Union and the Russian Ministry of Economic Development will collaborate on advancing domestic solutions, utilizing Russian GLONASS navigation technology and the State Automated Information System ERA-GLONASS, including for ensuring the interoperability between the ERA-GLONASS and the equivalent European eCall accident emergency response systems. Priority focus will be on the Eurasian Economic Community (CIS) member states, Brazil, India, Indonesia, and South Africa, as well as Latin America, Southeast Asia, Middle East, and Africa regions.

"This Agreement will bring Russian navigation market players valuable, up-to-date and reliable information from our trade missions abroad on priority export markets for GLONASS products and services, plans for major projects in these markets, and potential local partners. We have a common goal with the Ministry of Economic Development – increasing the volume and expanding the geography of Russian high-technology exports," noted GLONASS Union President Alexander Gurko.
