ERA-GLONASS can provide information about road accidents to Police Dispatch Centers

On December 11th was successfully passed tests for conjugation of ERA-GLONASS system and regional Police Dispatch Centers. Information about the road accident from the ERA-GLONASS terminal will be effectively transmitted to emergency services in 83 regions of Russia. In those regions where the 1-1-2 system will not be put into operation by the end of 2014 the call will be transmitted to Police Dispatch Centers for further emergency response organization.

Tests for conjugation of ERA-GLONASS system and regional Police Dispatch Centers were held with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, GLONASS Union and system integrators specialists. During the tests incoming calls from ERA-GLONASS were handled by the operator of the filter contact center, and the information about road accidents was redirected to the relevant Police Dispatch Centers of Russia's regions. Information about road accidents was admitted by duty staff, and a voice connection to the vehicle was successfully established.

"Since January 1st 2015 the ERA-GLONASS will be put into commercial operation, and from that date the number of users will be actively growing. Regardless of the region and availability of 1-1-2 system the information from ERA-GLONASS terminals will be transmitted to emergency services as quickly as possible"- said GLONASS Union ERA-GLONASS Project Manager Mikhail Korablev.
