GAZ Group and GLONASS Union sign a collaboration agreement
Non-Commercial Partnership For Development And Use Of Navigation Technologies (GLONASS Union) and GAZ Group, of Russia's major diversified industrial group Basic Element, as part of the 9th International navigation forum, have signed a collaboration agreement. The document proclaims collaboration of the parties in terms of navigation technologies application in Russia and abroad, as well as navigational and informational provision for arrangement and hosting of The 2018 FIFA World Cup.
GAZ Group and GLONASS Union have signed a collaboration agreement as part of the 9th International navigation forum. The collaboration between the parties will include improvement of legal and technical framework in terms of navigation and development of ERA-GLONASS project, which aims at cutting the time of road accident information transfer to the emergency services. The parties will also collaborate in terms of wider implementation of GLONASS technology in car-producing industry.

– Our cooperation with GAZ Group is about a wide range of collaborative operations in terms of GLONASS application: from research to production, implementation and operation of navigational and informational systems, navigation and communication equipment. We see great perspective for navigation technologies of road transport and in the field of passenger transportation. We're planning to boost these innovative trends in close cooperation with major Russian industrial corporations and development institutes.
Nikolay Odintsov, GAZ Group development director for corporate sales:
– We're hoping that together we will be able to create a smooth-running global system, ensuring passenger transportation control. Our collaboration must result in better level of road transport safety. GAZ Group has experience of participating in a similar global project, when total transport control was executed in one city – Sochi logistics transport center was processing information from all bus operations in the city during the Olympics. I'm sure that together we shall provide safety for passengers during The 2018 FIFA World Cup in 11 countries of Russia.
