GLONASS Union held a meeting on certification of ERA-GLONASS devices
On March 25th at the GLONASS Union office was held a meeting on the certification of ERA-GLONASS system, devices and vehicles equipped with ERA-GLONASS devices.
The meeting was attended by specialists from GLONASS Union, certification center "Communication Certificate", Test Center "NAMI", representatives of the leading manufacturers and automakers. Participants discussed the current opportunities for certification in Russia and algorithms of actions and agreed to continue regular interaction with GLONASS Union with a view to develop test procedures, the effective resolve of emerging issues and further improve the regulatory framework of certification.
According to the Customs Union Technical Regulation "On safety of wheeled vehicles" (TR CU 018/2011) since January 1st 2015 the presence of ERA-GLONASS equipment is required for all new vehicles, which for the first time undergo conformity assessment in the form of type approval. The GLONASS Union meets regularly to discuss issues related certification testing process, all interested market participants.
As a part of Customs Union technical regulations the certification process contains two types of tests. At first, emergency call device is being certified as a component of vehicle. For these purposes Certification Center "Communication Certificate" and a testing laboratory "ERA" were accredited. At the moment already defined testing methodology for ERA-GLONASS terminal to compliance with TR CU 018/2011, and the Center receives the first applications for certification. Currently several laboratories are already passing the accreditation process.
After receiving the certificate vehicle manufacturers need to contact the certification center in order to obtain a type approval. For these purposes, there is a special accredited test center "NAMI". Last year "NAMI" developed a test procedure after passing about ten crash test cars of different automakers.
