GLONASS Union held a business meeting with the General Motors concerning ERA-GLONASS system certification

On May 19, there was a business meeting of the Non-profit Partnership GLONASS with representatives of General Motors - one of the world's largest automakers that was dedicated to the certification of ERA-GLONASS devices/systems and vehicles equipped with ERA-GLONASS devices/systems.

Specialists of GLONASS and Svyaz-Sertifikat certification center, technicians of GM departments from the US, Korea, Italy, Spain, Uzbekistan and Russia attended this meeting.

During the meeting, they discussed the process of certification tests of emergency response devices/systems to meet two-way hands-free duplex communication requirements, electromagnetic compatibility, physical impact, navigation features and characteristics of the test devices/systems, and others. In addition, the specialists of GLONASS Union answered the questions related to the proliferation of SIM-cards profiles of ERA-GLONASS system operator to equip emergency response devices/systems with them.

Participants of the meeting agreed to continue regular interaction in order to develop test procedures, the effective settlement of emerging issues.

Requirements of technical regulations of the Customs Union "On the safety of wheeled vehicles" (TR CU 018/2011), which provide for the mandatory equipping of all vehicles passing the first type-approval procedure in the Customs Union with emergency response terminals/systems, entered into force on January 1, 2015. Non-profit partnership GLONASS holds regular meetings for device manufacturers and automakers, as well as business meetings to discuss topics related to the process of certification tests.
