Aleksandr Gurko Joined Presidential Commission for the Development of Aviation and GLONASS-based Navigation Technologies
On June 11, 2016 the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin signed the order, according to which the Presidential Commission for the Development of General Aviation was reorganized into the Presidential Commission for the Development of General Aviation and GLONASS-based Navigation Information Technologies.
The Commission was headed by the Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Igor Levitin. The president of GLONASS Union Aleksandr Gurko joined the Commission.
According to its provisions, the new commission was formed to provide coordinated actions of federal executive authorities, government authorities of territorial entities of the Russian Federation and interested organizations on the development of implementation of the main state policy directions in the sphere of general aviation and GLONASS technologies.
Basic tasks of the commission include development and implementation of main state policy directions, improvement of legal and regulatory framework, consideration of proposals on changing long-term, investment and other programs of development of general aviation, aviation systems and GLONASS technologies.
